Caye Caulker
Island of Tranquility
Caye Caulker is the very definition of island living. Shoes are frowned upon. And so are stress and worry.
This is the way of life on Caye Caulker, only five miles long and .15 to 1.2 miles wide with a population of less than 1,500. Streets are white sand and are made for golf carts, the only motorized mode of land transportation on the island. And of course, being only a mile away from the Belize Barrier Reef, visitors enjoy sailing, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, fishing, and other water activities in the clear azure waters of the Caribbean. Caye Caulker is known for its deep roots in Belize island culture, which is brilliantly displayed in its boutique shops and inspiring local art.
