A Gateway between Mexico and Island Paradise
Just an hour and a half away from San Pedro Town is Chetumal, a major trading center and the capital city of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Chetumal offers first-world shopping with its Plaza Las Americas mall, warehouse shopping, a first-run movie theatre, and bustling markets. Visitors can also take advantage of Chetumal’s proximity to the beautiful Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and Cancun just a five hour drive or bus ride away.
Island of Tranquility
Caye Caulker is the very definition of island living. Shoes are frowned upon. And so are stress and worry.
This is the way of life on Caye Caulker, only five miles long and .15 to 1.2 miles wide with a population of less than 1,500. Streets are white sand and are made for golf carts, the only motorized mode of land transportation on the island. And of course, being only a mile away from the Belize Barrier Reef, visitors enjoy sailing, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, fishing, and other water activities in the clear azure waters of the Caribbean. Caye Caulker is known for its deep roots in Belize island culture, which is brilliantly displayed in its boutique shops and inspiring local art.
The Country’s Cultural & Commercial Center
As the country’s main port of entry, Belize City is bustling with sights, nightlife, and activities. Altun Ha is one of the country’s most popular ruins. The Belize Zoo is the world’s coolest little zoo, where you can get kissed by a jaguar. You can test your fears at the Baboon Sanctuary or pick cashews at the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. All of these attractions are in Belize City, as well as the House of Culture, St. John’s Cathedral, and the Museum of Belize.
Here is where you will find major hotels with conference facilities, as well as casinos and ports for cruise ships.
Paradise on La Isla Bonita

Perhaps the song’s popularity is due to its poetic depiction of every person’s dream: paradise. Perhaps it’s because this paradise is real.
Ambergris Caye, pronounced “am-BER-gris key,” is the largest of the island cayes of Belize, and San Pedro Town is known for being a true Caribbean playground. The Island features the Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world, world-class scuba diving and snorkeling, and fishing of all varieties and levels, as well as culture. San Pedro is very well known in the country for its fine dining and active nightlife, and the town is filled with all kinds of restaurants and bars to keep visitors busy… [Read More]
